Pulse Percussion is a youth-arts organization dedicated to providing students the highest level of performance and development opportunities through multiple musical channels including competitive indoor percussion ensembles, educational clinics and other outreach activities nationwide.

Pulse Percussion ENSEMBLE DIRECTOR

In this role, you will report directly to the Pulse Director of Programs, working closely with the Administrative team to execute logistics plans for competition. This is a co-director position. Multiple positions will be filled to complete the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead clerical work, errands, and other administrative support, help supervise rehearsal site, may include check-in and check-out, coordinate sold/rented gear and local vendor orders for pickup and return, prepare/coordinate food/beverage needs for the members

  • Lead building, sourcing and repairing equipment & props

  • Lead recording expenses, collecting and recording tuition payments, draft/send/recording of member documents, managing Slack communication platform, managing internal documents including staff Safe Sport certifications, contracts, background checks, and circuit(s) compliance paperwork, coordinating with Board of Directors, assist with registering ensembles for performances

  • Lead confirming details with show sites including driving directions, parking, warm-up, etc, assist with coordinating truck drivers (both volunteer and paid), assist with renting and coordinating box trucks and trailer drivers, as needed

  • Lead coordinating rehearsal space, lodging, rental vehicles, meals, transportation (flights, busses etc) for Dayton Trip

Qualifications

  • Experience working with adolescent youth, demonstrate success in problem-solving and adapting to ever-changing conditions, a driver's license and personal vehicle is required, access to a home-computer with internet is required

  • One season as a performer or staff member with a WGI (Independent) or DCI ensemble is preferred

  • Be on-call during work time (weekends from Sept. to May), be at least 22 years of age (must be ineligible to perform with DCI or WGI percussion group), work outdoors for up to four-hour time blocks in a variety of climates, climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds

This role is part-time, from September-April, with a majority of the work Fridays-Sundays. On-site work is necessary, individual should be local.
