PULSE Inc. - Board of Directors interest

In this role, you will serve on the Board of Directors of Pulse Inc., working closely with the fellow board members to provide governance, oversight, and strategic vision for the organization. As a board member, you will help guide Pulse’s long-term direction, ensure financial health, and uphold the mission and values of the ensemble. Multiple seats may be filled to complete the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide governance and oversight for the organization’s operations, finances, and compliance

  • Attend and actively participate in regular board meetings, committee meetings, and annual planning sessions

  • Contribute to strategic planning, policy-making, and long-term organizational development

  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and accountability alongside the Treasurer and Finance Committee

  • Assist with fundraising, donor engagement, sponsorship development, and other advancement activities

  • Serve as an ambassador for Pulse, strengthening community relationships and partnerships

  • Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and safety standards, including circuit compliance

  • Support the Director of Programs with advice, mentorship, and resources

  • Participate in board subcommittees (e.g., Finance, Development, Governance, Media/Marketing) as needed

  • Contribute to succession planning and sustainability for leadership and staff roles

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience serving on a nonprofit board or in an advisory capacity strongly preferred

  • Professional background in business, finance, law, education, nonprofit management, or related fields

  • Understanding of nonprofit governance and fiscal responsibility

  • Previous experience in WGI, DCI, performing arts, or youth development preferred but not required

  • Commitment to attending meetings (virtual and in-person) and participating in organizational events

  • Ability to contribute time, expertise, and financial support in alignment with board member expectations

  • Must be at least 25 years of age and committed to the mission and vision of Pulse
